Blue Claws Lose in South Carolina

The Greenville Drive defeated the Lakewood Blue Claws 3-2 to stave off elimination in this best of five series. The Blue Claws lead the series two games to one and need just one more win to become the champions of the South Atlantic League. Lakewood starting pitcher Trevor May pitched five scoreless innings before giving way to relief pitcher Jacob Diekman who started the sixth inning and gave up the tying run. He was then relieved by Luke Wertz. Greenville scored twice more in that inning and that was enough runs to win the ballgame.

The next game in the series is tonight in Greenville, South Carolina. The game starts at 7:05 PM. The starting pitchers are scheduled to be Korey Noles for Lakewood and Fabian Williamson for Greenville.
