Blue Claws Tied for Frst After Last Night's Win

The Lakewood Blue Claws remained tied for first place in the North Division of the South Atlantic League after defeating the West Virginia Power 5-0 last night in Charleston, West Virginia. Blue Claw pitcher Matt Way upped his record to 5-4 by striking out seven batters in eight innings.

Lakewood catcher Sebastian Valle was one of the hitting stars of the game. Valle batted in the first two Blue Claw runs with a sacrifice fly and a double. Valle has been hot of late with five homers and 12 RBIs in his last nine ball games.

The two teams play again tonight starting at 7:05 PM in Charleston, West Virginia.
